Reflective Vs Reflexive
After reading the article, I don't know where I would fit most. I would like to say that I am reflexive, but to be honest, I really don't believe that. If you asked my boyfriend, he would tell you that I am the most stubborn person anyone will ever come into contact with. Stubbornness sometimes means the inability to change. Hmm. I know that I am more "set in my ways" but I do feel that I change little things on a day to day basis. I would like to think that during my teaching, I am reflexive. I am able to reflect on how the lesson went, and mold it due to the liking and/or understanding of my students. I am influenced by their learning. On the other hand, outside of the classroom -- I will defend my beliefs/ideas until the day I die. I am always right and when I'm not, I will find a reason that supports why I am. So, I could honestly say -- as a person, I am reflective; as a teacher, I am reflexive.
I hope everyone understands where I am coming from with the two. I feel my last blogs have been confusing because when my thoughts run, I don't think I just speak. So, after letting the article sink in, I feel that this was my best response. Hmm....
